My photography journey began in 2015. I asked for a phone for Christmas and got a Nikon Coolpix camera instead. I went outside right away and started taking pictures – the original request long forgotten. As time passed, my passion for photography grew and I created Perspective Mission, which used photo letter art to raise money for both international and domestic service.

In the same vein, I started writing as early as the age of 4 (or 5, it’s hard to recall).  I’ve always loved interacting with words, via reading or writing, and that passion has only grown as life continues.  From ripping off the Magic Tree House series as a pre-schooler (sue me) to continuing to write as much as possible through college, I have kept that love. Becoming a journalism major was the answer to many questions I had about my path, which is still evolving.

I moved beyond Perspective Mission after graduating from high school – the focus has shifted now that I’m in college. My time is now spent honing my craft in any area and style possible. Over this past summer (2024), I spent time in Missouri writing and reporting for the Southeast Missourian, soaking up as much knowledge as I could. Should I be lucky enough to continue down a similar path to the one taken this past summer, I would be beyond grateful.

In the meantime, take a look at the galleries in the photography section, peruse the writings, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, concerns, curiosities, or general observations!
